Range Rules
THESE RULES MUST BE ADHERED TO AT ALL TIMES!!A VIOLATION MAY MEAN REVOCATION OF MEMBERSHIP !!
1. Members and guests only. A member is allowed two guests excluding family.
The Member must accompany his guest while using the range. It is recommended
that any guest using the range more than twice be requested to join.
2. Paper and clay targets only are to be used. No unsafe targets are to be used,
such as bottles, cans, cinder block, etc. No clay targets are to be used on the
rifle or pistol range.
3. All targets will be placed so that all bullets strike the backstop. Targets are to be
placed on non-metal frames and placed so they will not create a hazard to persons
and/or properties.
4. SAFETY FIRST ! When not being used, all guns must have open actions and must
be placed on the rack. All guns must be empty with open actions when anyone
is forward of the firing line. All guns must be pointed in a safe direction at all times.
5. No person under 12 years of age will be permitted to handle a firearm on club
property.
6. Persons between the ages of 12 and 16 will be permitted to handle and fire a rifle,
shotgun, or bow while under the supervision of a certified Range Officer or club
member that has been certified by a Range Officer.
7. Any person, member, or guest using the range for any purpose will exercise care
and common courtesy, and will abide by the orders of the Range Officer, or the
acting Range Officer. Failure to abide by club rules, the use of foul or abusive
language, or in any way interfering with the safety of other persons on the range,
shall be cause for immediate expulsion from the club property and charges of
misconduct will be brought before the Trustees for action.
8. There will be NO ALCOHOLIC beverages allowed while using the range.
9. No person, while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or any exhilarating or
stupefying drug, will be allowed to use the range.
10. All persons who use the range or other club facilities will police the area, and
remove all outside debris when done.
11. No deviation from these rules will be allowed without express approval and
supervision of the Range Officer or his alternate.
12. The Range Officer and his appointed deputies shall be responsible for the
enforcement of all range rules.
13. Other NRA approved target shooting will be allowed only at scheduled events, or
under the supervision of the Range Officer or his alternate. This includes metallic
targets.
14. Bowing pin range and sporting clay range are only to be used at scheduled times.
There is a sign-in book on the range.Everyone using the range MUST sign in and out !
It means mandatory expulsion from the Club if you don't !!

3-D RANGE RULES
1. No Broad Heads
2. When looking for arrows, put RED FLAG from back of bag to the front of the bag so
other shooters know you are down range. You have (5) five minutes to look for
your arrows only.
3. No wandering Down Range looking for arrows - stay within 4 to 5 yards from all
sides of the targets.
4. ALL CHILDREN MUST HAVE ADULT MEMBERS WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES ON THE ARCHERY RANGES IN ORDER TO SHOOT AND THE PARENT MUST BE WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES, EVEN DOWN RANGE.
5. NO HORSEPLAY ON ANY OF THE RANGES.
6. If you find someone else's arrow, put it in the lost arrow container.
7. YOU MUST READ ALL RANGE RULES BEFORE USING THE RANGES.

ARCHERY RANGE RULES
1. Only one shooter on the tree stand at any time (Do NOT move stand)
2. Tree stand shooter MUST USE SAFETY HARNESS and follow ALL safety bow
regulations for tree stand use.
3. All shooters MUST stand at the firing line when shooting at targets.
4. All shooters must take turns so everyone can shoot.
5. All targets are to be used ONLY in the stands made for them.
6. No targets are to leave the ARCHERY RANGE - this includes the 3-D targets.
7. Target arrows ONLY for all targets. NO BROAD HEADS to be used.
8. Put all found lost arrows in lost arrow stand at the shed.
9. No climbing on sand piles behind the targets.
10. Check with all shooters before going down range and put your bows on
the bow rack. NO SITTING ON THE BOW RACK !
11. Shooting allowed only at regulation targets (no tin cans, etc. allowed).
12. All spectators stay behind the shooters.
13. Children ages 12-16 MUST be under ADULT MEMBER supervision.
14. No horse play on the archery range !
15. All members using the targets are responsible to return them to the Archery
Shed and see that the shed is locked when you leave.
16. YOU MUST SIGN IN (CLIPBOARD IN SHED ON WALL)
17. Keep the area clean and put all trash in the trash barrels.
ANYONE NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES WILL BE ASKED TO
LEAVE THE RANGE FOR OTHERS SAFETY !

1 0 C O M M A N D M E N T S O F S A F E T Y
1. Treat every gun with the respect due a loaded gun.
2. Watch that muzzle ! Be able to control the direction of the muzzle even if you
stumble.
3. Be sure of your target and beyond before you pull the trigger. Know identifying
features of the game you hunt.
4. Be sure that the barrel and action are clear of obstructions and that you have
only ammunition of the proper size for the gun you are carrying.
5. Unload guns when not in use. Take down or have actions open. Guns should be
carried in cases to the shooting area.
6. Never point a gun at anything you do not want to shoot. Avoid all horseplay with
a firearm.
7. Never climb a fence or tree or jump a ditch with a loaded gun. Never pull a gun
towards you by the muzzle.
8. Never shoot a bullet at a flat or hard surface of water. At target practice, be sure
your backstop is adequate.
9. Store guns and ammunition separately beyond the reach of children and
careless adults.
10. Avoid alcoholic beverages and other mood altering drugs before and during
shooting.
